how do I create a file replacement download ?

Hi All

I have an application built with VB6 that quite a few users have downloaded from my website and are using.

On my website, users can download the latest version of the EXE file but I have to instruct them how to replace their existing EXE file, with the new downloaded one.
The existing EXE file will ALWAYS be in the same folder path on everybody's machine, because the original installation forces the installation path.

How would I go about creating a single file download, that once downloaded and ran, would automatically replace the existing EXE file with the new downloaded one ?

I realize the download would probably need to be a self executing zip file of some kind, so as to have in the zip file the new EXE file, and I suspect some kind of a batch file to do the actual file replacement.

I do use "quick install maker" to create my original self extracting installation program, so I guess I could somehow use that, to make the single file people would download to update their original EXE file

I am just not sure how to go about this ?

any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

david
