Windows 2012 Server "Core"

Hi all,

I started installing some of our software on this edition only to get stuck on trying to register some vb6 bases .dll files. Eventually I realized the entire vb6 runtime environment (msvbvmv6.dll etc) is missing from the core version of 2012. Has anyone come up against and solved this problem?
