VB6 Crashing because USB is not plugged in?

Hi all,

I have no idea why this happened, I have a desktop computer that I normally work on but I also use a laptop for portability if I am at work etc. Both desktop and laptop have the same version of VB6 installed. There has never been any problems.

I transfer my project files to a USB every now and then to transfer them to the other computer. I'm not actually using the USB to read the project files, I save them to the computer first before I start working with VB6.

Now when I open the project files on my laptop, VB6 crashes when it is trying to load forms etc. However! If I plug my USB into the computer (that's all I do) then VB6 will open the files no problem :/ This is frustrating anyone else have the same problem?
